Comment to this post and use the following format:
Subject: Day [date], [your username], [that day's word count]
Example: Day 1, Cutiesonthehorizon, 134 words
If you forget to report in during that day, no worries, post a comment the next day, just report with the date of the previous day in the subject line.
Please try and use the format mentioned above for the subject line so it'll be easier for us to keep an eye on the word counts. As to the comment itself, feel free to gripe about how hard the words were, or squee about how easily you wrote half a chapter! You can put in your favorite sentence, or add a link to the fic, whatever you feel like:)
Because last month we learned the sad news that Fox doesn't want to offer us season 3 of The Exorcist anymore, we all need a bit of a pick me up. June isn't dedicated to a specific kind of fic/art... it's a great time to finish your wips, write AU fics, one-shots, or create your own season 3! Anything goes, everything is welcome. Saturday's are dedicated to tweetathons, so if you create a short haiku, funny poem, art or gifset for the tweets, please share here and on twitter, it absolutely counts towards your daily goal, I promise ;)
Most of all, have fun and don't forget to report in:)
Day 28, cinelitchick, 1337 words
Date: 2018-06-29 04:25 am (UTC)Fingers crossed I finish the fic tomorrow. Otherwise, I'll either write before I head out Saturday afternoon or do a late-night session when I get home that night. (Can you tell I'm determined to close this on the 30th? XD)
Today's sample:
“What’s wrong?” Harper was twelve, not ten. She knew when someone was hiding something.
[Redacted] sighed. “I need to talk to you in private. Is there somewhere we can go?”
Harper wanted to ask what about, but didn’t have the nerve. She would find out soon enough. In the deepest, darkest parts of her, she feared the worst. They walked down to the beach as no one would be around till the the bonfire that night. The two girls continued to walk along the shore in silence: [Redacted] was trying to figure out when to hand over the letter that was sitting in her purse; Harper worried if the evil she had tried to warn Marcus about had come after all. Finally, [redacted] came to a standstill. She fished the letter out of her messenger bag, which was slung crossbody over her chest, and handed it to Harper.

From:Day 29, cinelitchick, 2111 words
Date: 2018-06-30 04:53 am (UTC)Yes, you read that right. I. AM. DONE!!!!! Part 3 is a whopping 38,316 words. Granted this is pre-editing, so it will fluctuate. (Fun fact: Part 2 is still longer by a couple hundred words.)
It took four scenes to wrap it up and somehow I'm not surprised. lol It's all Tomas, Marcus and Tomarcus — in that order.
No sample. Everything's a bit too spoilery, so for once I'm just gonna skip it. Kinda like how with the final ep of The Exorcist they skipped the theme. (Too soon?)
In case you're looking for a subtotal word count for the full fic, here it is: 98,418. I need a moment. Nope, still processing. XD
