April ExoWriMo - Word Count Report In

 April ExoWriMo

Report in with your word counts!

This entry is for  reporting daily word counts! Every day after you finish writing/creating, please comment with your nickname, the day and the number of words you wrote. See the example below:

Comment to this post and use the following format:

Subject: Day [date], [your username], [that day's word count]
Example: Day 1, Cutiesonthehorizon, 134 words

If you forget to report in during that day, no worries, post a comment the next day, just report with the date of the previous day in the subject line

Please try and use the format mentioned above for the subject line so it'll be easier for us to keep an eye on the word counts. As to the comment itself, feel free to gripe about how hard the words were, or squee about how easily you wrote half a chapter! You can put in your favorite sentence, or add a link to the fic, whatever you feel like:)

To help you all out a bit, April was decided to be the month of AUs/Crossovers! You're of course welcome to create any kind of content, but if you want to get some inspiration, there are few AU/Fic generators:

Most of all, have fun and don't forget to report in:)

I finally got started. Only 269 words. Like, I finally got an idea, and started working it up inside my head, and then today it took this left turn and started in a whole different way and I had to steal snatches of time at work to write bits in Notepad and... well, anyway, I'm working on it. I don't have a good excerpt, but it involves Marcus, Peter, bourbon, the counting of sins, Tomas, and crucifixion. And a bayonet.

Congrats on getting an idea and working on it! Also, I love each and every one of those words at the end of your update starting with "Marcus" and ending with "bayonet". So curious to see what you've created!

Normally I write in longhand and then edit in red and THEN type. I'm rusty on this "typing from scratch" thing. I think I'll try the next bit with my normal process. ;)

Oh wow, longhand! That's impressive! If that's what works for you then, absolutely, stick with your normal process.😄

Aaaand it worked! LOL, I've got two longhand pages to type. MOUSE IS HARD! Her thoughts and dialogue will probably require extensive edits, but hey, you can't edit a blank page, so I just wrote it and am living with the "less than perfect" anxiety.

That's great! Mouse IS hard to write, but the fun is figuring out your interpretation of her. "Less than perfect" is fine so long as you're happy with how you wrote her. =O)

When I was in school and had to count words handwritten on paper we used to average the number of words per line and count the lines, which was much faster than counting word-by-word.
